Terms of Use

Effective: October 21, 2026

These are the terms for using Nostalgex. They cover the Nostalgex app on Apple TV, the Nostalgex app on Roku, the web tuner on nostalgex.app, the self-hosted web tuner container, and this website. By using any of them you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

Who makes Nostalgex

Nostalgex is published by Muell Haus Inc. You can reach us at support@nostalgex.app.

Your server and your media

Nostalgex doesn't host, sell or supply any video. It turns your own Plex, Jellyfin or Emby library into TV channels, and everything you watch plays from your own server.

• You're responsible for your server, the media on it, and having the rights to watch that media.
• If you run the self-hosted container, it runs on your own machine, and you're responsible for that machine and for who can reach it.
• Channel names describe the kind of titles that can air from your library. Nostalgex isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any studio, network or streaming service.

Other services

Nostalgex works with servers and services run by other people, and each has its own terms:

• Plex, Jellyfin and Emby, the media servers Nostalgex reads from, and plex.tv for Plex sign-in
• TMDB and OMDb, for public movie and TV metadata, and MusicBrainz, for music metadata. Nostalgex uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
• Apple and Roku, for the App Store, the Roku Streaming Store and the devices the TV apps run on

Nostalgex isn't affiliated with Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, TMDB, OMDb, MusicBrainz, Apple or Roku. We don't control their services, and when one of them changes or goes down, Nostalgex may stop working with it.

Open source

The Nostalgex code is open source under the MIT license. The Roku app carries its own MIT license, in roku/LICENSE. Fork the code all you like.

The Nostalgex name, the logo and the nostalgex.app site aren't part of that grant. If you ship your own version, please ship it under your own name.

Tips on Apple TV

Tips in the Apple TV app are optional in-app purchases. They unlock nothing. Apple handles the payment, so refunds go through Apple, not through us.

No warranty

Nostalgex is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We don't promise that it works with your server, plays every file, or runs without interruption or errors.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Muell Haus Inc. and the people who contribute to Nostalgex aren't liable for any damages arising from your use of Nostalgex or from not being able to use it. That includes indirect, incidental or consequential damages and lost data. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

What Nostalgex collects, and what it doesn't, is in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version goes on this page with a new effective date. Using Nostalgex after that means you accept the new terms.
