Music Video Channels
The High Rotation bundle. 14 channels, built from your own library.
Nobody has a music channel that plays music any more. This bundle is the fix, as long as you have been collecting.
Fourteen channels, sorted the way a music channel used to split its day. HIGH ROTATION is the main one, the mixed chart channel. Then it breaks out by genre: POP, ROCK'N, ALT ROCK, HEADBANGERS for the loud end, RAP GODS and BALLIN for hip hop, SLOW JAMS for the late night block, COUNTRY SWAGGER, CALIENTE, DANCE FLOOR, GET DOWN for the funk and soul shelf, Y2K for the early 2000s, and CURRENT SPIN for whatever you added most recently.
The reason this bundle feels different from the rest of the app is the length. Everything else schedules movies and episodes, so a channel is a few long blocks. Music videos are three minutes, which means the guide fills with dozens of them and the channel behaves like actual television: you tune in, something is halfway through, the next one starts, and you leave it on while you make dinner. It is the closest thing in the app to a radio station with pictures.
One thing to get right before you turn it on. These channels read the music video library on your server, the one your server has tagged as music videos rather than as movies. That is deliberate, because a four minute video and a four minute short film are hard to tell apart otherwise, and a few hundred clips filed under Movies would wreck every other channel in the app. So if the whole bundle is empty, the fix is almost always on the server: set the library type to music videos, rescan, and everything lights up.
Past that, it works like the others. Nostalgex reads what you own, sorts it into the fourteen channels, builds a real schedule and starts it mid video. Nothing is streamed from anywhere else, and no video comes with the app.
Free, open source under the MIT license, Apple TV on tvOS 18 or later. Worth the one setting on the server if you have a music video folder sitting there doing nothing.

High Rotation FAQ
What does this bundle need in my library?
Music videos, in a library your server identifies as music videos. HIGH ROTATION reads that library specifically, so a folder of concert films filed under Movies will not feed these channels.
Why are all fourteen channels missing?
Almost always because the music videos are in a movie library. Set the library type to music videos on your server, let it rescan, and the channels appear on the next guide build.
Do the videos come with the app?
No. Nostalgex only plays what is on your own Plex or Jellyfin server. It supplies the channels and the schedule, not the music.
How long are the programmes?
Short, like the real thing. Videos run a few minutes each, so the guide fills with a long run of them instead of one two hour block.
Does it cost anything?
No. The app is free and open source under the MIT license.
